Description
Level 1
Amateur Opponent
should be the default pick on any map with a PvE objective or an important boss (Battlefield, Cursed Hollow, Sky Temple). It should also get picked into summon heroes (e.g. Zagara) and into Blaze to kill Bunker.
Protector Of Aiur
can be picked on any other map, as long as stacks are reasonably farmable on the enemy laner (e.g. not into ranged offlaners)
Level 4
Shield Battery
generally provides the best raw stats on the tier, and should be picked if not opting for E build.
Psionic Synergy
is fairly strong when playing E build, as high armor uptime with high shield uptime provides a lot of tankiness.
Level 7
Solarite Reaper
is almost mandatory on offlane Artanis to have acceptable waveclear. Pick this if you don't have other sideclear on the team.
Chrono Surge
is good for raw stats if you're reliably hitting Es, and can be setup for
Purifier Beam
into immobile heroes if you're not picking
Suppression Pulse
.
Final Cut
generally provides fairly lackluster stats, but can be considered on Battlefield of Eternity if all you care about is race.
Level 10
Suppression Pulse
is an extremely strong, global teamfight ult and should almost always be picked in coordinated.
Purifier Beam
can be picked if there's practically no AA threat on the enemy team, and there's an immobile hero on the enemy team who could be easily pressured with it.
Level 13
Graviton Vortex
should generally be picked if the other E talents have been picked, as the CDR significantly improves their value.
Phase Bulwark
makes it even harder to burst Artanis down, giving you more time to get a shield reset in.
Templar's Zeal
can be an occasionally valuable pick into enemy teams who are frequently clumped, or when fighting on the shrine on Infernal Shrines. This lets you spam constant shield resets as long as you're not interrupted.
Level 16
Blades of a Templar
is busted, only deviate from this to pick
Force of Will
in combination with
Templar's Zeal
. The sticking power from the slow and increased damage and defense from the attack speed makes this talent generally have much higher throughput than anything else.
Level 20
Artanis level 20 talents are generally fairly underwhelming, so pick whichever talent looks best.
Zealot Charge
improves in-fight mobility, making it easier to stick around and keep reducing your trait CD. Generally this is a good default.
Plasma Burn
provides some extra pressure when you go in, if you don't have any issues with sticking, this is an okay pick.
Target Purified
can provide good value if you're actually getting kills on your ulti target regularly. Consider this if you're a solid memer.
Orbital Bombardment
lets you use your ultimate freely in late game skirmishes, and chain it in team fights. Generally you'll only cast your ultimate when one team has committed to the fight, and it's rare for a committed fight to take more than 10 seconds to be decided, but it can still provide valuable breathing room to have two casts in longer fights.
